Richard Stenhouse was born in Charlotte, North Carolina in 1944. The artist began his studies in architecture at the Design School at North Carolina State University and eventually received an MFA from University of North Carolina, Greensboro in 1975. Stenhouse has participated in over 100 exhibitions nationwide and is renowned for his quiet, haunting landscapes created with graphite and pastel on mylar. The artist has had solo exhibitions at the Mint Museum in Charlotte and the Southeastern Center for Contemporary Art in Winston-Salem.
