Pamela Zimmerman

I am a self-taught fiber artist, using mostly basket making techniques, not necessarily in a traditional manner. Weaving is an escape and exploration. There are very few boundaries as to what I consider "appropriate" weaving material, or "acceptable form".

I tend to work in series, developing ideas over the course of several years, often making changes to works in the middle of the night. Birth, rebirth, cocooning, transition, transformation, metamorphosis, emergence, change, and perspectives on these processes often are apparent in my weaving. I seem to have more ideas than time execute them.
