Charlene Ferrell Newsom,a native North Carolinian, founded Gallery C in 1985. Her early passion for art led her to Wake Forest University and a degree in art history. The gallery reflects her studied expertise in both contemporary art, as well as historic Southern painting, cartography, and antique prints.

Rock is the Director of Gallery C. He has a BA in art from Penn State and a MFA from East Carolina University. Rock taught art history at UNC-Pembroke for 5 years. He launched theater programs in Pembroke, Lumberton, Manteo, Evanston, IL, Del Rio, TX, Plano, TX, Marshall, TX, Raleigh and Apex.

Matthew is our Gallery Manager . He is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a BA in Art History. He has worked at various art galleries in the Triangle. Furthermore, he has excavated at the Bronze Age archaeology site of Azoria in Crete, Greece. He also volunteers at the North Carolina Museum of Art in his free time.

Lillian Parker Newsom is Charlene's oldest daughter and the youngest employee at Gallery C. A sophmore at Enloe high school, this child prodigy keeps the Gallery running and still finds time to sing in the choir and strum her guitar. |
