Charlene Ferrell Newsom,a native North Carolinian, founded Gallery C in 1985. Her early passion for art led her to Wake Forest University and a degree in art history. The gallery reflects her studied expertise in both contemporary art, as well as historic Southern painting, cartography, and antique prints. Charlene is a columnist for the North Carolina magazine, ArtSee.

Lillian Parker Newsom is Charlene's oldest daughter. Lilly is a sophomore at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Her social work and psychology major keeps her busy but she still finds time to design the website and help hostess the gallery openings.

Sharon is a Raleigh native, the daughter of local landscape architect, Dick Bell and Mary Jo Bell, owner of the Garden Galley (1963-2006). She has a degree in Design and grew up working in her mother’s gallery getting to know the artwork of NC artists very well. We are fortunate to have her here at Gallery C. |

Abby Newsom is Charlene's youngest daughter as well as the youngest employee of Gallery C. Abby is a sophomore at St. David's School in Raleigh. |

Chris Edwards is the head of Gallery C's framing department. She has been associated with the gallery since 1989. |
|
Janet Jackson has a Master of Fine Arts degree from Arizona State. She taught art at the State University of New York and textile design at NC State's College of Textiles. Janet is an effervescent communicator who enjoys sharing her knowledge with vistors to the gallery. |
