What do the Road Runner, Wile E. Coyote, Marvin Martian, and Michigan J. Frog all have in common? They are some of the most beloved animated characters ever to appear in movies and they were all created by legendary animator Chuck Jones (1912-2002). Jones is universally considered one of the most important figures in the history of animation and animation art. In his 60-plus year career, Jones made over 300 animated films, won three Oscars, and brought uncountable laughs to uncountable children and adults since the mid-1930’s. Chuck Jones began his animation career washing cels for Disney Studios but was quickly hired by the fledgling Warner Brothers Studios where, along with other mavericks in the field, he helped bring an exciting new style of irreverent and madly-paced animation to the screen.
Today, Chuck Jones animation art stands as some of the most creative in the history of the field. Vintage Chuck Jones cels are highly collectable, especially the Grinch animation art from the 1966 production “Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch stole Christmas.” Grinch animation drawings and original cels are very rare and hard to find but, equally desirable are cels signed by Chuck Jones of Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck and other characters the animator worked so hard on. A number of such signed cels and drawings can be found on this page as well as amongst our Warner Brothers offerings.
